Enver Gortash was born to two parents who were struggling and in debt. In order to pay off those debts, they sold him to who they believed to be a warlock. In reality, it was Raphael, a devil in disguise, who would keep Gortash and abuse him within his home. Eventually, Gortash escaped, starting up his own business in Baldurs Gate. He initially started as a black market weapons dealer before expanding into other businesses. At some point he hired Karlach, one of our companions, as a bodyguard but later sold her to a devil named Zariel in exchange for access to the hells.
Eventually, Gortash became a military advisor, which was his start into politics. At some point, Gortash became Bane’s chosen, the god of tyranny, hate, and strife. Afterwards, he eventually met the Durge, which he made an alliance with, and they began to conspire together, which brought them closer. A little bit later, he also met Ketheric Thorm, and this was when they began to make plans to install the Crown of Karsus onto the Elder brain residing below Moonrise Towers. At some point, the Durge was disposed of, and Gortash approved Orin taking his place, although neither him nor Gortash liked Orin.
