Baldurs Gate 3 has seen great success over the past 2 years since its release back in August of 2023. It took the video game industry by storm, and for good reason too. The amount of effort and time invested into this game was unthinkable to most. Then, in November, they released Honor mode. The combat in the game was difficult enough, but Honor mode took it to a new level. The entire combat system was turn-based and relied on strategy to help you succeed each encounter. What honor mode did though, was give certain enemies more turns, and powerful new abilities.
Honor mode introduced legendary actions for enemies into the game. What this did was allow enemies to deal massive damage or resist abilities during player turns. This gave enemies more actions than the player and made it difficult to kill them. The worst part? In Honor mode, once your party dies, that’s it for the run. Game over. So why do so many people play Honor mode instead of regular difficulty? Because finishing Honor Mode means you get to join the exclusive club of other people who did it, and you get some shiny golden dice for your next playthrough. Everybody loves shiny things.
